Native VLAN…

“Native VLAN” is the Cisco term used a lot in for Layer 2/3 VLAN switch/routing. I spent a lot of time to understand and get use to it initially. When I got a HP (including 3com, H3C) and Alcatel-Lucent switches to put into infrastructure to work with Cisco ones, I could not find or understand their implementation of “native vlan”…??

The answer is simple: they do not have such term, Alcatel-Lucent, Procurve and old 3Com simply just use “untagged”; H3C uses PVID…

Not really learning curve for new technology but new terms to memorize!!
